Tremendous Trumpets

The Last Post is a song that is played as a farewell tribute to those who have served in the armed forces.

It is the song that is also played during Remembrance Day cereomonies to honor of those who have served.

Traditionally the Last Post is played after the wreaths have been laid and is followed by a period of silence.

The Reveille or the Rouse is played to signal the end of the silence.

PERFORMANCE HINT

This is a difficult song to play.  It is easier to play the song if you keep either the first valve pressed at all times or both 1 & 2.  It lowers the notes which makes it more playable for all trumpeters or brass doublers.
