It is good practice to use a metronome when practicing your music.
It is more like playing with a band as it makes you keep up with a set time
and speed. Ask your director what speed they want the music to be played at
and set the numbers on your metronome.

Tuning Fork
Start to practice listening and matching the pitch for the A tuning fork.
The standard practice when tuning the band or orchestra is to tune to the frequency of A440. This means:
Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bells, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Bass, Tympani Play A
Clarinets, Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Play G
Alto Sax plays E
French Horn Plays D
